Former Sailor Erika Reineke Named Yachtswoman of the Year

Reineke continues to shine on the water

BRISTOL, R.I. – Former Boston College sailor Erika Reineke was named the Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year in 2017 as announced by US Sailing this morning.

Reineke, who was the Enoshima Olympic Week Laser Radial Gold Medalist, was honored for her sailing performance in 2017.

A slate of nominees, determined by the membership of US Sailing, was presented to a panel of accomplished sailing media professionals, who together discussed the merits of each nominee and individually voted to determine the ultimate winners.

Reineke will be honored on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, during a luncheon at the New York Yacht Club in Manhattan.

A native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Reineke graduated from Boston College in May of 2017. She four-time Women's All-American, Coed All-American and won four National Singlehanded Sailing Championships while at Boston College.
