After a busy fall, the women's tennis team is ready for dual matches
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's tennis team kicks off its 2018 dual match season with an ACC battle at 10 a.m. Sunday, hosting the Virginia Cavaliers in Chestnut Hill. The Eagles began last spring with a 4-3 decision Virginia before defeating Yale 5-2 for their first win of the 2017 dual season.
 Â
BC returns plenty of proven talent, including senior Asiya Dair and junior Jackie Urbinati.
Â
Dair kicked off her senior season winning the entire Brown Classic, dominating her singles matches on all three days. Urbinati notched five singles win during the fall season.
 Â
The Eagles also return four sophomores: Micayla Casella, Dasha Possokhova, Elene Tsokilauri and Kylie Wilcox.
Â
Each Eagle notched at least three singles wins during the fall – Casella had five successes while Possokhova had four.
Â
Four freshmen will also get their first taste of dual action. Among them, Reagan Posorske led the Eagles with the most singles wins during fall of 2017 with eight wins. Natasha Irani also had a strong showing with five wins during the fall.
Â
The Eagles will once again face a tough ACC schedule. They will host two of the nation's top teams when they face No. 9 Duke (Sunday, March 5) and No. 7 Georgia Tech (Sunday, April 9).
Â
Following the first home match of the dual season, the Eagles will host two in-state rivals, Massachusetts and Boston University, on January 27 at 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively, before taking their first road trip of 2018 in February to challenge Dartmouth and William & Mary.
