
Gaudreau, Hanifin Named to NHL All-Star Game

Former Eagles Johnny Gaudreau and Noah Hanifin will represent the Boston College hockey program at this year's NHL All-Star Game in Tampa
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Former Hobey Baker winner Johnny Gaudreau and former Hockey East All-Rookie recipient Noah Hanifin have been tapped for the 2018 Honda NHL All-Star Game on Sunday, Jan 28, 2018 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.
For Gaudreau, it denotes his fourth NHL All-Star selection. The former Eagle has been named to the All-Star team all four seasons with the Calgary Flames.
This marks Hanifin's first selection as the Hanover, Mass. native enters his third full season as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes.
Gaudreau has accrued 36 assists up to this point in the season, good for fifth in the league, and his team-leading 49 points iss ninth in the NHL.
Hanifin leads Hurricanes defensemen in goals (7), assists (14) and points (21) through the halfway point of the season. He also ranks eighth among NHL blueliners in goals (7).
Gaudreau (2011-14) is a top 10 scorer all time at Boston College and only one of two former student-athletes to do so in three years. He is tenth all-time in scoring on The Heights, notching 175 points (78-97-175) in 119 games. Hanifin finished with 23 points (5-18-23) from the blue line in his one year donning the maroon and gold during the 2014-15 season.
