Rasmussen Grabs Second at Men’s NEISA Singlehanded Championship
September 25, 2017 | Sailing
The Boston College men's and women's sailing teams participated in a slew of regattas over the past weekend.
Highlighting the weekend for the Maroon and Gold were the NEISA Men's and Women's Singlehanded Championships. On the men's side, sophomore Scott Rasmussen posted a second-place performance after claiming the tie-breaker, tallying 50 points on the day. For the women, freshman Sophia Reineke took home fifth place overall, while junior Isabella Loosbrock finished seventh.
Boston College also raced in team regattas over the weekend. At the Chris Loder Trophy, hosted by New Hampshire, Boston College wrapped up in fifth place overall, although the regatta was unable to be completed due to poor wind conditions.
At the St. Mary's Interconference Regatta in St. Mary's City, Md., the Eagles used exceptional conditions to propel them into sixth place overall.
Finally, back in Boston at the Hood Trophy, hosted by Tufts University, Boston College claimed ninth place after the weekend of competition.
The Eagles will be racing next weekend in four separate regattas across New England: the Danmark Trophy in New London, Conn., the Smith Trophy in Cambridge, Mass., the Hewitt Trophy in Hanover, N.H., and the Regis Trophy in Boston.
