
Burke Leads Eagles at Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown

BC finished in 16th place
Boston, Mass. – The Boston College men's cross country team finished in 16th place with 486 points at the fifth annual Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown at Franklin Park on Friday afternoon.
Junior Sean Burke crossed the line first for the Eagles, finishing the 8K in 25:43. He finished in 71st place overall in a field of 156 runners.
The men competed against 18 teams. Syracuse (No.3), Indiana (No. 27) and Illinois (No.28) are ranked among the top 30 in the NCAA according to the U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coach's Association.

BC Highlights
- Burke was the first Eagle to cross the line, completing the race in 25:43. He averaged a 5:11 mile throughout the course of the race.
- Juniors Ben Osipow (26:12), Jack Morris (26:13) and Sawyer Maher (26:15) ran as a pack throughout the race, finishing in 112, 114 and 116th place, respectively.
- Freshman Kyle Faddis rounded out the top five for the Eagles, crossing the line in 132nd place with a time of 26:36.
- Freshman Ben Ruffing finished in the 143rd position at the 27:07 time, while junior Ian Ritchie took 150th at 27:26.
- Defending ACC Champion Syracuse took first place overall with a team score of 35 points.
- Jesse Reiser of Illinois won the meet with a time of 24:13.
