CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College football team suffered its first loss of the season to ACC foe Wake Forest, losing 34-10 in Chestnut Hill on Saturday.
Despite the loss, the game was statistically even as BC had 305 yards of offense on 82 plays with 19 first downs compared to a Deacons team that registered 309 yards on 71 plays with 15 first downs.
Four turnovers and three interceptions by redshirt freshman quarterback Anthony Brown set the Eagles back. Despite the outcome of the game, Brown's teammates remain confident in his ability to perform.
Head coach Steve Addazio echoed that same confidence in his press conference to the media yesterday, believing that Brown has the right attitude and mindset to tackle Notre Dame this weekend.
In other BC sports news, the baseball team went to city hall last Tuesday, Sept. 5, for Pete Frates Day. Mayor Martin J. Walsh highlighted the positive impact Frates had had on the Boston community. The Frates family, Red Sox president Sam Kennedy and Chairman Tom Werner and Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred were all in attendance.
