Women Shine at Toni Deutsch Regatta on Opening Weekend

The Boston College sailing team kicked off the the fall portion of its season this weekend, participating in a series of regattas across New England.

At the Toni Deutsch Regatta hosted by MIT, the Eagles dominated the field. Juniors Isabella Loosbrock and Emma Perry led the way, claiming victory in the A division, while freshman Sophia Reineke and senior Lizzie Bohan cruised to first place in the B division. Boston College topped the weekend leaderboard in impressive fashion, as 46 points separated the first-place Eagles with second-place Dartmouth.

Down in New London, Conn., the Eagles also raced in the Pine Trophy, hosted by the United States Coast Guard Academy. There, the Boston College boat sailed to third place overall.

The Eagles will be back on the water next weekend with a slate of four different regattas lined up, including the Central Series One, which will be hosted by the Maroon and Gold in Boston, Mass.
