After a pair of 4-0 wins last weekend, men’s soccer cracks the Top 25 in three polls
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Following a pair of 4-0 victories last weekend to open the 2017 season, the Boston College men's soccer team cracked the Top 25 in three of the nation's four polls in the Week 1 releases on Tuesday.
In the United Soccer Coaches Poll (formerly the National Soccer Coaches Association of America – NSCAA), Boston College entered at No. 22 nationally. In the Top Drawer Soccer Poll, the Eagles came in at No. 25. In the College Soccer News Poll, Boston College broke in at No. 17 in the 30-team poll. BC remains unranked in the Soccer America Poll after being unranked in the preseason editions of all four polls.
Last weekend, Boston College opened the season with a home win over Quinnipiac and a road win at Boston University, both by 4-0 score lines. The Eagles' 2-0 mark was part of the ACC's 19-4 record on opening weekend. Between the four polls, at least eight ACC teams are ranked this week, with the College Soccer News Poll boasting nine of the 12 conference teams.
The Eagles return to action on Friday, Sept. 1, when they host New Hampshire at 4 p.m. at the Newton Campus Soccer Field.
