ACC Releases Preseason Volleyball Poll

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Atlantic Coast Conference released the preseason coaches' poll and the Boston College volleyball team was voted 14th in the Atlantic Division by the league's 14 head coaches. North Carolina was selected as the preseason favorite to win the conference title, with 14 first place votes.
One point separated Florida State (169 points) and Pitt (168), which placed second and third, respectively. Notre Dame (149) placed fourth ahead of NC State (140), Miami (136), Duke (118), Louisville (104), Georgia Tech (99) and Syracuse (75). Wake Forest (69) was picked 11th followed by Virginia Tech (54), Virginia (50), Boston College (28) and Clemson (20).
The Eagles finished their 2016 campaign 8-22 overall, slating a 3-17 conference record. The squad won their first ACC match over Wake Forest then slated a three-win streak, including wins over Syracuse and Virginia.
The Eagles open the 2017 season on Friday, August 25 with the Boston Invitational. Fairfield, Providence and Alabama at Birmingham will be in attendance for competition.
