Pair honored for performances last week
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Sophomore Dan Metzdorf (baseball) and senior Jordan Weed (softball) have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.
Metzdorf threw six scoreless innings in the Eagles' 8-0 win at No. 17 Wake Forest on Saturday. He held the Demon Deacons to just four hits and only one extra-base hit - a double - in the outing. The lefty also helped keep Wake - which averaged 8.3 runs per game - off the board for BC's second ACC shutout of the season. Metzdorf struck out five and walked three.
Weed was named ACC Pitcher of the Week after allowing only one earned run in four appearances and 10.2 innings last week, going 1-1 with a 0.66 ERA and only 10 hits allowed. She led BC's 6-5 comeback victory Saturday against Notre Dame. Weed entered with two outs in the third inning as the Fighting Irish led, 5-1. She threw 4.1 scoreless innings as the Eagles scored five unanswered runs.

Baseball (19-26, 8-19 ACC) hosts Quinnipiac this weekend for a three-game series. Softball (31-21, 14-9 ACC) faces Notre Dame on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the ACC Championship at North Carolina.
