
Chamness, Williams, Richardson finish strong at ACC

The men's swim team wrapped up the season at the ACC Championships last week. After four days of tough competition, the Eagles came in 11th place with an overall score of 167, defeating 12th place finisher Miami by 60 points.
BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Taylor Cortens achieved NCAA qualifying times in the 200 yd. IM (1:48.38), and the 200 yd. breaststroke (1:59.23). Taylor's time in the 200 yd. breaststroke broke Andrew Stranick's school record from 2015.
- Senior Anthony Richardson broke the school record in the 1650 yd. freestyle with a time of 15:44.31, shaving four seconds off the previous mark. Richardson was also the Eagle's top finisher in the 500 yd. freestyle (4:29.34) and the 200 yd. freestyle (1:38.45).
- The 800 yd. freestyle relay team of Richardson, Cortens, Keating Mosher, and Michael Hinton set a new school record with a time of 6:39.44.
- Colin Derdeyn established himself as the second fastest sprinter in Boston College history with a time of 20.51 in the 50 yd. freestyle.
- Charles Kleinsmith posted a personal best times in every event he swam. Kleinsmith swam his 100 yd. breaststroke in 55.78 and the 200 in 2:02.80. He
- Senior captain Conor Chamness posted the second fastest time in school history in the 100 yd. backstroke (49.77), trailing his own mark of 49.72.
- Michael Hinton achieved personal best times in the 500 yd. freestyle (4:34.42), the 200 yd. freestyle (1:40.37), the 100 yd. freestyle (46.18), and the 50 yd. freestyle (21.26).
- Senior David Howard was BC's top finisher in the 200 yd. butterfly. His time of 1:51.46 was just shy of breaking his own school record.
- Senior captain Josh Williams tied the school record in the 50 yd. backstroke as the leadoff swimmer for the 200 yd. medley relay. Williams was teams' top finisher in the 200 yd. backstroke with a time of 1:49.41.
