
BC Earns Doubles Point in Loss To Harvard

Possokhova wins singles match
BOSTON – The Harvard women's tennis team defeated Boston College, 5-2, in non-league play Saturday at the Crimson's Murr Tennis Courts.
The Eagles (1-3) earned the doubles point for the third-straight match. Junior Asiya Dair and sophomore Jackie Urbinati won their third straight match together with a 6-4 victory in second doubles.
Senior Emily Safron and freshman Elene Tsokilauri won 6-3 in third doubles.
Freshman Dasha Possokhova earned the Eagles' lone singles victory in a 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 effort from the third spot. Possokhova advanced to 3-1 in singles play in dual season.
Dair, ranked 103rd nationally, took Harvard's Erica Oosterhout to a third-set tiebreaker in first singles. However, Oosterhout won the match 6-4, 2-6,12-10.
Harvard advances to 1-4.
BC resumes action in its home opener at 10 a.m. next Saturday against Rhode Island at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
