February 28, 2017 | Men's Hockey
Cam Atkinson- RW, Columbus Blue Jackets
Atkinson lit the lamp twice in the Blue Jackets 5-2 domination of the New York Rangers on Sunday. The goals, the first of which proved to be the game-winner, earned the winger second star honors for the game and helped his team maintain their third-place spot in the Metropolitan Division. Atkinson also picked up an assist in a Feb. 25th rout of the New York Islanders.
Brian Boyle- C, Toronto Maple Leafs
The veteran became a causality of last week's trade deadline, moving from sunny Tampa Bay to his new home north of the border with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Boyle has yet to hit the ice wearing the blue sweater, but will look to help the Leafs continue their playoff push in tonight's contest against the San Jose Sharks.
Brian Dumoulin- D, Pittsburgh Penguins
The Maine native tallied an assist on Nick Bonino's power play goal in the second period of a 4-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Feb. 25th. The helper was his 10th of the year.
Patrick Eaves- RW, Anaheim Ducks
Eaves became the second Eagle on the move Thursday after being acquired by the Anaheim Ducks in a trade at the deadline. He recorded five shots on goal in his first game with his new squad on Feb. 25th, but didn't find the back of the net.
Johnny Gaudreau- LW, Calgary Flames
Johnny Hockey came off a recent slump with a vengeance this week, scoring two goals and adding six helpers in his team's last four games. Both scores came in Sunday's 3-1 defeat of the Carolina Hurricanes, with four of the six assists all coming in an OT win against the Nashville Predators on Feb. 21st.
Brian Gionta- RW, Buffalo Sabres
Gionta launched four shots on net in the Sabres loss to the Arizona Coyotes on Sunday, but didn't tally any points.
Noah Hanifin- D, Carolina Hurricanes

Jimmy Hayes- RW, Boston Bruins

Kevin Hayes- RW, New York Rangers
Hayes grabbed his 28th assist of the year on the Rangers' lone regulation goal against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, Feb. 23rd. The helper proved crucial for New York, as they went on to defeat the Leafs in a shootout.
Chris Kreider- LW, New York Rangers
Kreider opened the scoring in Saturday's win over the New Jersey Devils, ripping twine early in the first period before recording a crucial assist in a late, game-tying goal. His Rangers currently have a comfortable 13-point lead over Toronto for the first Wild Card spot in the East.
Michael Matheson- D, Florida Panthers
The rookie hit the net seven times over his last three games, but failed to log any points. The Panthers went 0-3 on the week.
Brooks Orpik- D, Washington Capitals
The defensive vet suffered a lower body injury in the Caps' 4-1 Wednesday win in Philadelphia. He has not returned to the ice since sustaining the blow and is considered day-to-day.
Steve Santini- D, New Jersey Devils
The youngster took five combined shots on goal in his last two games, in what has been a dismal stretch for his Devils. New Jersey has dropped its last four and sits next-to-last in the Metro standings.
Cory Schneider- G, New Jersey Devils
Schneider made 36 stops on Saturday in what would prove to be a losing effort against the New York Rangers.
Ben Smith- RW, Toronto Maple Leafs
