HOW IT HAPPENED
- Louisville shot out to a 12-2 lead in the first six minutes. The Eagles shot just 12.5% from the floor in the quarter and lost the battle of the boards, 16-8.
- The Cardinals extended the lead as they opened up on a 10-4 run in the second quarter. The Eagles offense went 0-10 in the first half from the three-point line and senior Kelly Hughes was held scoreless as BC went down, 35-16, at the half.
- A 9-2 run by Louisville to open the second half pushed the Cardinals lead to 44-18 with 6:40 left in the third quarter. BC opened the quarter 1-for-5 from the floor, while the Cardinals went 3-for-4. A three by Kailey Edwards cut into the Louisville lead, 44-21, with 6:21 to play. Louisville held a 50-27 lead after three quarters.
- Boston College's offense continued to sputter and could not cut into the Louisville lead.
