CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College junior captains Ymke Rose Gote and Frederique Haverhals were named to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I All-America Third Team, the organization announced on Tuesday. The All-America honors were the second for both Eagles.
Gote and Haverhals were both First-Team All-Northeast Region honorees and collected All-Atlantic Coast Conference Second-Team honors in 2017. They were tied for second on the Eagles with five assists each and both scored two goals to notch nine points.
Gote, an Amstelveen, The Netherlands native, started all 19 games for the Eagles in the midfield. Her two goals in 2017 came in the double overtime win against Pacific and the overtime loss to No. 7 North Carolina. Last season, Gote earned NFHCA All-America Third-Team accolades and All-Northeast Region First-Team honors. She also picked up All-ACC Second-Team honors as a sophomore and junior and was a member of the ACC All-Tournament team as a freshman.
