Eagles Fall at Providence, 63-55

Bolden-Morris connected four three's for the fifth time this season
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Though leading going into half time, Boston College women's basketball was bested by Providence College's 21 points in the third quarter alone, falling to Providence at Alumni Hall, 63-55.

The Eagles outperformed the Friars in the first quarter, holding the Friars to a six-minute scoring drought and taking an 8-0 to nab the lead. BC finished the first half on top, leading by a narrow five-point margin. In the second half, the Friars took off quickly, scoring 21 points in the third quarter alone and the Eagles could not answer, though they brought Providence's lead within four in the final minutes.

The Eagles fell to 5-7 on the season, while the Friars improved to 7-6. Providence out-shot the Eagles with 47.8 percent from the floor to the Eagles' 41.7 percent.

BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Martina Mosetti notched her 100th career game this afternoon.
- Georgia Pineau's nine rebounds led the game. She was a rebound and a point shy of her fourth double-double of the season.
- Sydney Lowery and Taylor Ortlepp shot perfectly from the charity stripe.
- Milan Bolden-Morris' 16 points led the game, her fourth time doing so this season. This was her fifth game that she's connected four three-pointers.
- Milan Bolden-Morris' trey took the Eagles out of a scoring drought, after which BC turned the tables and held the Friars to an almost six minute drought to close out the first quarter. Capitalizing on this, the Eagles took an 8-0 to pull into the lead, 14-10.
- After rising to their biggest lead of the game, nine points, Providence hit a groove, finding seven points to close the gap. The Eagles went the locker room with a 26-21 advantage.
- Sydney Lowery's four points during the third quarter added to the Eagles' six points, and the Friars notched 21 points. Providence hit 5-5 field goals to close the quarter.
- The Friars took a 10-2 run to open the final quarter and the Eagles could not recover, though they came within four of the Friars' lead, and fell 63-55.
- The Eagles will return after the holiday to host Maine in Chestnut Hill on Thursday, December 28 at 7 p.m.
