
Eagles Respond in BU's Barn and Split with 4-1 Triumph

Sophomore Joseph Woll turned in a season-best 36 saves while four different Eagles lit the lamp to claim victory in the 276th installment of the Battle of Comm Ave
BOSTON– Sophomore goaltender Joseph Woll stopped a season-best 36 shots as the No. 15 Eagles responded on Saturday night, splitting the regular-season series against their arch rival with a 4-1 victory at Boston University on Saturday night.
Sophomore forward David Cotton scored his first game-winning goal of the season and added an assist, securing his eighth point in the (2-6-8) in his last four outings. Classmate Ron Greco potted his third goal in two outings while defenseman Connor Moore and Graham McPhee also found the back of the net in the win.

- Boston College upped its record in enemy territory to a strong 11-4-2 mark as the Eagles skated in their 18th contest since Agganis Arena was erected in 2005. The last time BC won down this side of Comm Ave. was on Jan. 16, 2015 as the Eagles skated to a 4-2 victory.
- Sophomore goaltender Joseph Woll collected his seventh victory of the season, steering away a season-best 36 shots, including 13 attempts in the third period to preserve BC's victory.
- Ron Greco continued his hot streak, scoring his third goal in two outings, upping his career total to six tallies in 52 games as an Eagle. It marks the first-ever point streak for the Philadelphia native as Greco now has four goals on the season.
- Connor Moore scored his second goal of the season and third of his career with a funky tally in the first period, tossing it off of a Terrier's defenseman stick. The Cumming, Ga. native also registered a pair of assists last night, accounting for three points (1-2-3) in his last two outings.
- David Cotton scored his third goal of the season, second in three games, in unassisted fashion. The Parker, Texas native scored Boston College's first unassisted goal of the season. Cotton's tally stood as his first game-winning goal of the season and fifth of his career as the sophomore racked up our game winners as a rookie. Cotton also added an assist on Graham McPhee's empty-net goal for his third multi-point performance in his last four outings. Cotton has 11 points (3-8-11) on the season.
- Sophomore forward Julius Mattila is arguably BC's hottest forward as of late as the Finnish product elongated his point streak to a season-best five games with an assist on McPhee's empty-net goal. The second-year center has accounted for three goals and four assists over that stretch.
- Sophomore Graham McPhee tallied his fifth goal of the season on the empty net, marking his fifth goal of the season and seventh in the maroon and gold.
- Graduated student Kevin Lohan assisted in back-to-back games, marking the first point streak for the University of Michigan transfer since donning the maroon and gold. The 6-foot-5 rearguard now has 12 career assists in 72 college hockey games.
- Freshman forward Casey Carreau attained his second assist of the season, helping out on Greco's tally in the second period.

FIRST GOAL (1-0 – Boston College) FIRST PERIOD – Connor Moore – 13:33 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Boston College faced a barrage of BU shots early but quickly curbed that momentum with a Connor Moore tally at 13:33 of the first period. Christopher Brown jostled the puck loose and rimmed it out to JD Dudek in the far corner. Dudek skated the length of the ice and fired it over to Connor Moore on the left dot. Graham McPhee skated down the seam and was wide open for the tip-in and Moore discovered it at the perfect time. Moore dispensed the pass to McPhee and in an effort to defend the play, a Terrier stick got to the puck first and ended up tipping it past his own goaltender, Jake Oettinger at 13:33 for the 1-0 BC lead.
SECOND GOAL (2-0 – Boston College) FIRST PERIOD – David Cotton – 14:17 – EVEN STRENGTH
• On the very next play, 44 seconds later, David Cotton made a great defensive play and turned into a 2-0 lead with an unassisted strike. Cotton crashed in on Chad Krys and ended up with the puck going the other way. The sophomore forward took his initial shot in tight on Jake Oettinger and the first attempt was blocked but the puck jutted right back to him and he tapped it in at 14:17 of the first period.
THIRD GOAL (2-1 – Boston University) SECOND PERIOD – Shane Bowers – 9:27 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Boston University got on the board midway through the second period on a tip in front from Shane Bowers. Logan Cockerill won a battle in the corner and quickly relayed it up Kasper Kotkansalo just within the blue line. Kotkansalo hammered a the puck towards the Eagles' crease and Bowers was in perfect position to redirect the rubber past Joseph Woll at 9:27 of the second period to cut into BC's advantage, 2-1.
FOURTH GOAL (3-1 – Boston College) - SECOND PERIOD – Ron Greco – 15:10 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Boston College recouped its two-goal lead with just under five minutes to play in the second. Kevin Lohan quarterbacked the play deep in BC's end. Lohan flung the puck out of the far corner and connected with Casey Carreau already in stride through the neutral zone. Carreau carted it into Terrier territory and dropped the puck off for Ron Greco inside the left circle. Greco took his time and picked his corner, sniping it over Oettinger's left shoulder for the 3-1 lead at 15:10.
FIFTH GOAL (4-1 – Boston College) - SECOND PERIOD – Graham McPhee – 19:31 – EMPTY NET
• Graham McPhee iced the game with an empty net goal with 29 seconds to go. Julius Mattila won a draw in BC's end and swatted it out to David Cotton in the flats. Cotton banked it off the near boards and let McPhee chase it down the left side of the sheet. McPhee beat his man, corralled the puck and pushed it over the unattended goal line for the 4-1 victory.
