CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's basketball team fell, 73-53, to Seton Hall on Sunday afternoon in Conte Forum despite sophomore Georgia Pineau's 18-point, eight-rebound effort.

The Eagles are now 4-6 on the season, while the Pirates advanced to 7-2.

Boston College concluded the first quarter only three points down, but their efforts at redemption were squandered from there on out. Though the Eagles brought the Pirates' lead within eight points after a three from Andie Anastos, Seton Hall took charge and sustained a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.

BC shot 31.3 percent from the floor while Seton Hall shot 46.8 percent. The Eagles excelled in free throws, connecting 75 percent.

- Sophomore Georgia Pineau led the Eagles with 18 points and was two rebounds shy of her third double-double of the season with eight on the day.
- The Eagles shot 75 percent at the foul line over the Pirates' 61.5 percent. Andie Anastos had four, while Georgia Pineau and Taylor Ortlepp had two apiece.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BC kept pace with Seton Hall in the first quarter, ending the period with only a three-point deficit, led by Katie Quandt's five points. As a squad, the Eagles shot 22.2 percent in field goal range.
- The Pirates found an early 8-0 run to take a 12-point lead. A three courtesy of Andie Anastos cut the Pirates' lead to eight points, the lowest of the quarter.
- The Eagles shot 47.1 percent in field goal range during the third quarter for their highest percentage during any of the periods.
