CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – William V. Campbell Director of Athletics Martin Jarmond announced Monday that Chris Campbell has resigned from his position as head coach of the Boston College volleyball program. Campbell spent seven seasons as head coach at BC and compiled a 73-176 overall record, including a 22-96 mark in ACC play.
"We appreciate Chris' years of service in leading our volleyball program and wish him the best in his future endeavors," said Jarmond.
BC was 7-23 this season and 4-16 in the ACC.
Campbell's best season at The Heights came in 2014 as the Eagles finished with their best ACC conference mark in six seasons. With 11 wins and six ACC victories, the Eagles were tied for ninth in the conference marking their highest finish since 2006 (eighth).
"Our volleyball sport administrator Jamie Di Loreto will conduct an extensive national search to find a new head coach who can provide strong leadership and provide a world class experience for our student-athletes," Jarmond said.
Allison Keeley will serve as the team's interim head coach until a new head coach is named.
"I would like to thank Boston College for the opportunity to be a member of such a special and unique community," Campbell said. "I will always value the friendships and relationships that I made during my time on The Heights."
