Thomas Announces 2017-18 Track Schedule

Eagles begin action on Dec. 2
Chestnut Hill, Mass. – The Boston College women's track team will officially open the 2017-18 campaign on Dec. 2, according to the schedule released by head coach Randy Thomas. | 2018 schedule

The schedule includes eight indoor meets, beginning on Dec. 2 at the Boston University Season Opener. The indoor meets will take place at Boston University, Harvard and the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center. The ACC Championships will be hosted by Clemson on Feb. 22-24.
At last year's indoor ACC Championships, the distance medley relay team of senior Claudia DiSomma, junior Molly McCabe, senior Robin Gross and sophomore Paige Duca finished in third place overall with a time of 11:16.53 behind Notre Dame and Clemson. Â The same relay team went on to win the distance medley relay at the ECAC Championships with a time of 11:26.35 two weeks later.
The Eagles will then open the outdoor track season on March 30 in Palo, Alto Calif. at the Stanford Invitational. BC will travel to Raleigh, North Carolina, Williamsburg, Virginia, Providence, Rhode Island, Princeton, New Jersey and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania throughout the remainder of the season. The ACC Championships will take place on May 10-12 at Miami.
Last year's ACC Championships in Atlanta, Ga. saw a school record-breaking performance in the 400 meter hurdles by senior Julia Barron. Barron crossed the line in 1:00.68. Seniors Isabelle Kennedy and McCabe qualified for the NCAA East Preliminaries at the University of Kentucky. Kennedy ran the 10K in 36:41.62 and McCabe clocked a time of 2:16.41 in the 800.
The Eagles return 10 seniors and have added 11 freshmen to the roster in preparation for the 2017-18 campaign.
