Erika Reineke ’17 Wins Gold at Enoshima Olympic Week

BC alumna prepares for 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
ENOSHIMA, Japan – Boston College alumna Erika Reineke '17 participated in the Enoshima Olympic Week from October 23-30, as a member of the US Sailing Team, and took first overall at the conclusion of the week's events.
The St. Petersburg, Fla., product wrapped up an impressive career at Boston College last spring, where she earned a slew of honors including NEISA Sailor of the Year and closed her collegiate career winning four Singlehanded National Championships.
Reineke redshirted the 2015-16 season to continue her Olympic training and returned to Boston College in the fall of 2016 to complete her degree and her senior year. With the opportunity to race at Enoshima over the course of the past week, Reineke and other members of the US Sailing Team have gained an insight into what will be the venue for sailing events in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she seeks a gold medal for her country.
Reineke's quest for Olympic gold will continue in January where she will be racing with the US Sailing Tea at the 2018 World Cup Series in Miami, Fla.
