
Eagles Take on Duke in ACC Championships

BC took the Blue Devils to a shootout during the regular season
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Boston College field hockey team will take on Duke in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship beginning Thursday, Nov. 2. The seventh-seeded Eagles (11-6, 0-6 ACC) lost to second-seed Blue Devils (13-2, 4-2 ACC) in a shootout at home during the regular season. The game is slated for 1:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on the ACC Regional Sports Network.
Virginia holds the top seed in the conference tournament, which will be held at Trager Stadium in Louisville, Ky. After a bye, the Cavaliers will play the winner of No. 4 Wake Forest and No. 5 North Carolina. No. 3 Louisville will open the tournament against No. 6 Syracuse and No. 4 Wake Forest will take on No. 5 North Carolina in the opening round.Â

Both BC and Duke are currently ranked in the top 10 nationally with the Blue Devils at No. 2 and the Eagles at No. 9. Duke was victorious in the only meeting between the two teams this season, winning 3-2 in a shootout on Sept. 29.

The seven ACC field hockey teams have been ranked for the entire season, and six of the top 10 ranked teams in the NFHCA Poll are from the ACC. Conference teams have combined to go a national-best 60-9 against the other leagues this season, and are 27-7 against ranked nonconference opponents.

ACC fans will be able to watch all six games of the championship as they will be televised live by the league's Regional Sports Networks and will be available online and on mobile devices via ACC Network Extra.

Single-session tickets are available for $5 for adults. Youth under 18 and students from an ACC school with valid student identification can enter for free.        Â
