Softball Splits Fall Games

Dreswick and DiEmmanuele have strong performances against Harvard
The Boston College softball team split its fall games this past weekend against Harvard, defeating the Crimson 1-0 in game one and then falling, 3-2, in eight innings in game two at Harvard on Sunday.
Senior Jessica Dreswick pitched a complete game shutout in game one and junior Lexi DiEmmanuele was two-for-four with two base hits on the weekend. Senior Allyson Frei had a strong performance in game two, taking a no hitter into the eighth inning to keep the game close throughout. Â

The Eagles will play their final fall games of the season at Bryant on Saturday, Oct. 7 and a double header at Providence on Sunday, Oct. 8. The games will start at noon on both days.

- Sophomore Brenna Griesser notched an RBI.
- Freshman Jenna Ergle went two-for-three with a double and a triple.
- DiEmmanuele started the game with a bunt base hit and advanced to third on an error. She scored the only run of the game on a base hit by Griesser.

- Frei had a no-hitter going into the eighth inning and recorded nine strikeouts throughout.
- DiEmmanuele went two-for-four with two base hits.
- The Eagles scored both runs in the eighth inning. Junior Carly Severini started the inning at second base and then senior Jordan Chimento was hit by a pitch.
- Severini and Chimento advanced on a passed ball.
- Sophomore Olivia Markopoulos doubled to drive in Severini and Chimento, collecting two RBIs.
