Admission is free - Donations will be accepted at the entrances to Conte Forum
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College and Bryant will play an exhibition game for charity this Saturday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. Â
"This is a great opportunity to raise needed funds to help those individuals most directly affected by the hurricanes of the last month," said head coach Jim Christian. "We are happy to partner with Bryant University and head coach Tim O'Shea (Boston College '84, '86) and his program to play this game for charity. We hope that fans from both schools come out together on Saturday afternoon to support this cause."
Admission to the game is free and volunteers will be collecting donations at the entrances of Conte Forum. All proceeds from the game will be donated to Catholic Charities USA and to Jesuit ministries in the affected areas.
"We're really happy to have the opportunity to partner with Boston College to support a great cause, "O'Shea said. "It gives us the chance to face a quality opponent from the ACC while also helping some of the storm-affected areas in their recoveries."
Boston College requested a waiver from the NCAA for an additional exhibition game provided 100 percent of the net profits assisted with hurricane relief efforts across the country. Per NCAA rules, exhibitions are normally only permitted against non-NCAA Division I four-year institutions.
