Eagles return from an 11-day break to face the Bobcats at Kelley RInk
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – After an 11-day break in the schedule, the No. 3 Boston College women's hockey team returns to the ice on Tuesday evening, hosting Quinnipiac in a non-conference game at Kelley Rink.
Â
Faceoff is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be streamed live on ESPN3, which is accessible at WatchESPN.com and the ESPN app.
Â
Boston College (2-0-0) has not played since Oct. 6 when the team completed a two-game sweep of then-No. 4 Minnesota Duluth at Kelley Rink. The Eagles got potent production in the series from their second line, with Daryl Watts, Caitrin Lonergan and Willow Corson combining for 12 points in the two games – including five each by Watts (3-2-5) and Lonergan (2-3-5).
Â
Quinnipiac (4-2-0) has seen plenty of Hockey East action to start the season, with their first seven games coming against conference members. The Bobcats split with both Maine in Orono and Providence in a home-and-home series, then swept Vermont in Hamden last weekend. Â
Â
Boston College leads the all-time series between the teams, 17-4-4, including a 10-0-2 mark at Kelley Rink. Last year, the teams played a home-and-home series in October with the Bobcats snapping the Eagles' 48-game home winning streak with the 0-0 tie on Oct. 21. The following day in Hamden, BC claimed a 4-1 win as Lonergan collected the first three-point game of her career.
Â
This will be the first meeting since 2012 that both teams are not ranked when they meet.
Â
Sophomore Sarah-Eve Couto-Godnout and freshman Brooke Consteel share the Bobcats' scoring lead so far this season, each notching four points from three goals and one assist. Quinnpiac has used two goaltenders so far this season, with Abbie Ives getting four of six starts with a 1.31 GAA and a .945 save percentage to go with her 3-2-0 record. Â Allison Small is 1-0-0 with a 2.15 GAA and a .909 save percentage in her two starts.
Following Tuesday's game, the Eagles will return to the ice on Friday, Oct. 20, when they open Hockey East play at Connecticut. Faceoff is set for 6 p.m. at the Huskies' Freitas Ice Forum in Storrs, Conn.
