Men's XC heads to Louisville
Chestnut Hill, Mass. – On Saturday, Oct. 14, the Boston College men's cross country team will participate in the NCAA Pre-Nationals meet at "Tom" Sawyer Park in Louisville, KY.
The Eagles will compete against 51 teams. The men's race is scheduled to go off at 11:30 a.m.
Head coach Matt Kerr discussed the strategy for the Eagles this weekend. "We need to commit to running the entire race and especially focus on miles three and four," Kerr explained. "We haven't tapped into our full potential and we need our juniors, Jack Morris and Ben Osipow to make a big impact. We have some talented freshman who need to trust that they can run with our team leaders."
Kerr is also excited for junior Sean Burke to compete against a talented field of runners. "Sean Burke will get a great opportunity to run up front and we want to see him continue to develop his closing speed," Kerr said. "Getting a chance to preview the ACC course and work on changing gears is priority number one."
The Eagles did not compete at this meet last year, but will be visiting the "Tom" Sawyer Park multiple times this year as it is also the site of the ACC Championships and NCAA Championships.
