Eagles will host a best-of-three series at Kelley Rink
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's hockey team became the first team to clinch a top-four seed for the eight-team 2017 Hockey East Tournament, and now has announced the dates and times for its best-of-three game quarterfinal series at Kelley Rink.
Game 1: Thursday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.
Game 2: Friday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m.
Game 3 (if necessary): Sunday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m.
Boston College currently sits atop the Hockey East standings with 32 points and has claimed at least a share of its fourth-straight Hockey East regular-season title. The Eagles need a single point to win the trophy outright for the fourth year in a row.
The Eagles have hosted the Hockey East Tournament quarterfinals each year since the event was expanded from six teams – with the top two teams gaining byes to the semifinals – to eight teams in 2013.
The sixth-ranked Eagles (19-3-4, 15-2-2 HEA) return to the ice tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 31, when they face Boston University in the first round of the 2017 Beanpot at Northeastern's Matthews Arena. Faceoff is set for 5 p.m., with the second first-round game featuring Northeastern and Harvard set for 8 p.m. Tickets are available at gonu.com.
