BC Soccer Mourns The Death Of Emma Okonkwo

Okonkwo played in 1991-92
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's soccer team is mourning the death of former player, Emma Okonkwo, who played for the Eagles in 1991 and 1992.
Okonkwo played for two seasons at The Heights after transferring from Boston University where he was an All-New England player. He passed away on September 21 after a sudden illness.
Oknonkwo played in 24 matches with 20 starts at The Heights. He recorded one goal and seven assists in his two seasons with the Eagles.
Okonkwo was raised in Nigeria where he played for the Enugu Rangers Football Club before immigrating to the United States. He was also a part of the junior Nigerian National Team. Following his collegiate career, he played for several semi-professional soccer teams.
Okonkwo served as a coach for Seacoast United, Boston Bolts, Campbell High School, Londonderry High School, Presentation of Mary and the New England Football Club. He also had experience coaching in the Super Y League as well as the New Hampshire's ODP program.
