BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Though the Eagles ultimately fell in the deciding fifth set, the first two sets were high points for the Maroon and Gold, in which BC posted a greater hitting percentage than UGA.
- Senior libero Madisen Lydon tallied a match-high 21 digs, and racked up two impressive kills for BC.
- Sophomore McKenna Goss had a double-double for the Eagles with 10 kills and 13 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
The Eagles opened up the match by taking advantage of a Georgia service error and built an 8-5 lead. A Sol Calvete kill at 11-7 forced a Georgia timeout, after which the Eagles expanded their lead to 17-9 with a 4-0 run. BC kept on rolling and closed out the set at 25-15.
Set 2
In much closer play than the previous set, neither team mustered more than a two-point lead until the Eagles squeaked out a 19-16 lead forcing a Georgia timeout. The 6-0 run for BC was the momentum shifter in the set, and BC won another set, 25-19, highlighted by a superb Lydon kill for the winning point.
Set 3
The Bulldogs came back for a third set looking to get on the board and broke open a 10-5 that forced a BC timeout. Sticking with energy and momentum, Georgia led by as much as 21-9 and closed out the set in decisive fashion 25-12.
Set 4
Taking the lead from the start, Georgia broke open an 11-6 lead with a 6-0 run. Expanding their lead to 7 points at 19-12, the Bulldogs forced a BC timeout. The Eagles were unable to pick up their game and fell short, 25-16.
Set 5
Georgia took advantage of two setting errors by the Eagles to go on a 3-0 run and take a 5-2 lead that forced a BC timeout. The Eagles tried to rally, but too many errors doomed the Maroon and Gold, who ultimately dropped the decider 15-6.

The Eagles will square off against the University of New Hampshire Wildcats tomorrow night at 7:30 in Power Gym for their second and final match in the Beantown Challenge.
