Eagles in the NFL: Week One Recap

Matt Ryan – QB Atlanta Falcons
In game one of the regular season, Ryan and the Falcons took the loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, falling 24-31. Ryan threw 27 completions on 39 pass attempts for 334 yards including two touchdown passes for the Falcons. The Falcons look for their first win as they travel to Oakland to face the Raiders this upcoming Sunday.
Luke Kuechly – LB Carolina Panthers
Kuechly joined the Panthers on the field as they looked to avenge their 2016 Super Bowl loss to the Denver Broncos. In a close matchup, the Panthers fell 20-21. Kuechly was all over the field Thursday, making one tackle for loss and starting the campaign with yet another double-digit tackling performance. The All-Pro linebacker will lead the Panthers' defense as it hopes to rebound in Week two next Sunday versus the 49ers.
Justin Simmons – FS Denver Broncos
Simmons landed one tackle in the Broncos' 21-20 win over the Panthers this week. As a recent draft pick for the Broncos, Simmons showed potential in the first-week win. The Broncos stay at home this week as they host the Indianapolis Colts in Week two.
Kevin Pierre-Louis – LB Seattle Seahawks
Pierre-Louis recorded one tackle in the Seahawks 12-10 win over the Miami Dolphins.
Will Blackmon – CB Washington Redskins
Blackmon recorded one kickoff return for 29 yards in the Redskins 38-16 loss to the Steelers.
Josh Keyes – LB Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Participated in 22 plays on special teams in Sunday's victory against the Falcons.
John Wetzel – OT Arizona Cardinals
Participated in four plays on special teams in Sunday night's 23-21 loss to the Patriots.
Anthony Castonzo – OT Indianapolis Colts
Started at left tackle week one in the 39-35 loss to the Lions.
Mark Herzlich – LB New York Giants
Played in all 27 special teams plays for the Giants in their 20-19 win over the Cowboys
Kasim Edebali – LB New Orleans Saints
Participated on 14 plays on defense as a defensive end. Also saw action on special teams in their loss against the Raiders.

Lined up five times on special teams in week one against the Falcons. The Buccaneers won 31-24
