Five Set Victory Gives Eagles 3-0 Record on Weekend

- Senior Julia Topor led the Eagles on the evening with a double-double in kills (16) and digs (12). Topor led all players in the match in kills.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
BC led for the first half of the set, but UMass Lowell rallied to cut the Eagles' lead to 17-16, forcing a BC timeout. After the River Hawks rallied to tie the match at 20, they took a 21-20 lead that forced another BC timeout. The Maroon and Gold could not regain their composure and fell 25-22.
Set 2
Neither team led by more than two points until the River Hawks forced an Eagles timeout with a 3-0 run to take a 14-11 lead. BC got within one, but UMass Lowell pulled ahead again with another 4-0 run to go up 18-13, causing the Eagles to call another timeout. The River Hawk run reached as much as 8-2, but the Eagles staged a late comeback with a 9-0 run of their own, giving them a 26-24 win after fending off seven set points.
Set 3
The River Hawks drew the first major separation in the set by going up 14-10, forcing a BC timeout. The Eagles closed in by as many as two at 18-16, but Lowell pulled ahead again at 22-18, causing the Maroon and Gold to call timeout once more. The Eagles fell short this time, as the River Hawks took the set 25-21.
Set 4
The Eagles went on a 7-1 run, forcing a River Hawks timeout at 12-10. Following the timeout, BC kept rolling, extending their lead to 8 points at 20-12, forcing UMass Lowell to call their second timeout. The Maroon and Gold held on for a 25-18 set victory to draw level at two sets all.
Set 5
BC started strong with a 3-0 lead, but UMass Lowell rallied with four straight points to tie the set at ten. The Eagles reclaimed the lead by taking three straight points to force a River Hawks timeout at 13-10. Lowell would not back down and came back to draw even at 13. The teams kept exchanging points until the Eagles edged ahead and took the set 18-16 for the match victory.
