Cincinnati In Town For Friday Night Tilt vs. Eagles

The Boston College women's soccer team will host Cincinnati (3-1-0) on Friday at the Newton Soccer Field at 7 p.m. Prior to the Eagles game against the Bearcats, the BC men's soccer team will host Hofstra at 4 p.m. Admission is free for both games. This is the first meeting between Boston College (3-0-1) and Cincinnati. The Bearcats will also play at Boston University on Monday night.
ABOUT CINCINNATI
- Cincinnati is currently 3-1-0 in non-conference play.
- The Bearcats opened the season with a 2-1 double-overtime win over Dayton on Friday, Aug. 19. The other two wins came vs. Northern Kentucky and Evansville. The Bearcats only loss was at Purdue, 2-1, in overtime.
- Cincinnati was selected to place third in the American Athletic Conference preseason poll, which was released on Aug. 9. Two players - junior Vanessa Gilles and Jaycie Brown - earned conference preseason honors. Gilles was selected as the preseason Defensive Player of the Year, while Brown was tabbed to make the all-conference team.

- BC is currently 3-0-1 in non-conference action.
- The Eagles team offense is currently averaging 2.75 goals per game which places them 27th nationally in scoring offense, tied with two teams (So. Florida - Minnesota).
- BC's defense has yielded only two goals in four games. The Eagles team goals-against-average is 0.47. The defense has also only given up 11 shots on goal.
- Boston College will host Pacific on Sunday at noon. The Tigers will actually play at UConn on Friday afternoon (2:30 p.m.).

- Since Coach Alison Foley's arrival in 1997, the BC women's soccer program is 13-5-2 in season openers. The team has also won the last five season openers, including this year's 2-1 win over Providence.
- On Sunday, Sept. 4, the Boston College women's soccer team will hold an ALS Game with halftime recognition. The team has been holding an ALS Game since the 2009 season when former Eagles midfielder Julia Boutella's father William Bouchelle, passed away from the disease.
- Following Sunday's match vs. Pacific, the Eagles remain at home for three more games. Harvard will visit the Newton Soccer Field on Wed., Sept. 7 (7 p.m.) followed by Northeastern on Sunday, Sept. 11 (1 p.m.). LIU Brooklyn and BC will play on Wed., Sept. 14 (4 p.m.) before the Eagles take flight and head to Durham to play No. 7 Duke on Sunday, Sept. 18 in the first ACC match of the season.
