About the last scrimmage and how does the practice plans change heading into one week from Dublin …
"Now we're going into Georgia Tech. This was kind of a run through on operation to get ready for Georgia Tech. Our guys have hit their wall, physically and mentally, which is what (training camp) is supposed to be. We've gone straight through at camp, so we had to try and push through mentally today. Some guys did a good job at it, others didn't. So now it's about getting back from that and to get ready for Georgia Tech"

Is John Johnson the catalyst out their (for the nickel …
"We have a bunch of talented guys out there for that, but I think he's the real leader."

On a lot of different players and units seeing action today …
"We were banged up. We got some guys in. I think we were missing for guys on the offensive line and it got to the point, though where we weren't getting anything done. It's nothing serious, though, on the injuries. They are completely at the wall now, completely maxed out physically. We had a couple injuries, we looked like we were playing at slow motion right now, which is all part of the course when you get to the last days of camp. Now it's about shifting to Georgia Tech and letting them get their legs back. It's going to choke down a little bit, give them a chance to re-bite."

How does travelling Tuesday effect the schedule …
"It doesn't other than the fact that you're travelling. Traditionally in camp you give them a day, then you give them the weekend. That's why we're starting on Georgia Tech tomorrow. We have been working on Georgia Tech defense the whole time, but in camp just periods, not all day."

On sophomore tight end Tommy Sweeney's hands …
"I think he's going to have a hell of a year. He's a young guy. He's worked hard. He wasn't ready to play (before), but he is now. Here is a guy that is going into his (sophomore) year and he is ready to play. He's done a great job in the run game and a great job in the pass game, so I'm looking forward to it. I think he is going to do some really great things."

On the advantage of working in the shotgun formation …
"It gives you little better perspective. It gives you more room when playing good defenses like ours is and it allows you to see things better too."

On building confidence with receivers …
"I am confident in all of our guys. They make plays all the time but sometimes we miss them. They miss a catch or I miss a throw. We just have to eliminate those as much as we can."

On turning focus towards Georgia Tech …
"We are ready. We're ready to play someone different. We will start Georgia Tech preparation tomorrow and go through the weekend and then we are on a plane Tuesday. It's crunch time. We don't have a lot of time but I am confident we will be ready come game time."

On importance of having a balanced offense …
"It is definitely important. If you want to have a good offense then you have to be balanced. We have the guys in the back with the talent and the scheme to do it. We just have to execute."

On moving forward to Georgia Tech and how the defense is prepared …
"I think we are attacking the game plan well and we are covering a lot of ground. It was good that we had the whole summer to get started on it so I think we are in a good position."

On defense overall play in scrimmage …
"I feel like we covered well today and that's what it takes to beat teams in this conference. We are going to have to just keep attacking it and keep competing. I am happy with where we are but not satisfied, we need to reach a new level."
