Captains Named for 2016-17 Season

Trio will lead the Eagles in the upcoming season

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Three members of the Boston College women's tennis team have been named captains ahead of the 2016-17 season. Seniors Lexi Borr and Emily Safron will be joined by junior Asiya Dair as the team's leadership group.

Dair is a two-time All-ACC performer, picking up third-team honors in both 2015 and 2016. Borr joined her on the third team in 2016. Safron has been a mainstay in the Eagles' lineup since her freshman year, playing both singles and doubles.

In addition to the captain's announcement, the Eagles also earned the ITA's All-Academic Team designation for the 2015-16 school year. In addition to Dair and Safron's placement on the ITA's Scholar-Athletes list, graduated seniors Heini Salonen and Wan Yi Sweeting also copped the organization's top academic honors.
