Negalha Named Associate Head Coach

Named 2011 assistant coach of the year
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Jeff Negalha, who has spent 10 years in the ACC as a coach, has been hired as the associate head coach of the Boston College men's soccer team, announced today by head coach Ed Kelly.
Negalha comes from Pittsburgh where he was hired as an assistant coach in January. Prior to that, he was the head coach and scout with MLS club Orlando City in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. During his time in Orlando, the team was awarded Style of Play recipient and Most Improved Club.
Negalha spent nine seasons as the top assistant at North Carolina. He was named the 2011 NSCAA National Assistant Coach of the Year, helping the Tar Heels to a national championship after three consecutive Final Four appearances in 2008, 2009 and 2010. UNC qualified for eight NCAA Tournaments in nine seasons with Negalha on staff, won four ACC regular season championships, one ACC Tournament and appeared in three ACC Tournament championship games. As a major part of the recruiting process, he helped the team secure eight consecutive classes ranked inside the top 11, including the No. 1 class in the country in 2011.
Negalha also spent time as the top assistant coach at USF (2003-05) and USC Upstate (1999-2003).
He was the head coach for the Capital Area Soccer League (2011-14) and the Triangle United Soccer Association (2005-11) during his time in Chapel Hill.
