Eagles Release Non-Conference Schedule

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. --
The Boston College women's basketball team has released the non-conference portion of its 2016-17 schedule which will feature seven home games at Conte Forum.
The season opens with the Eagles on the road at Hartford on Friday, Nov. 11. The Eagles defeated Hartford, 62-28, at Conte Forum last year and holds an 11-1 edge in the overall series.
BC's second game is the home opener on Monday, Nov. 14 as the Boston University Terriers visit Conte Forum. Following the home opener, the Eagles will head to New Jersey to play Seton Hall on Thursday, Nov. 17. It will be the first time the two teams played since 2010, when BC defeated the Pirates, 85-46, at the Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas.
Boston College will return home to play St. Mary's (Calif.) on Sunday, Nov. 20 followed by a trip to the Rocky Mountains for Thanksgiving. The Eagles will play in the30th Annual Thanksgiving Classic sponsored by the Omni and hosted by the University of Colorado on Nov. 25 and 26. Boston College will play SMU at 5 p.m. on Friday, while Colorado will play St. Francis at 7:30 p.m. The consolation game will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday followed by the championship game at 7:30 p.m.
The ACC-Big Ten Challenge comes to Conte Forum next as the Eagles will host Penn State on Wednesday, Nov. 30. This will be the third meeting between Boston College and Penn State. The first meeting between the two teams took place on Dec. 29, 1984 as the Eagles fell, 89-54, on the road. The second time BC and Penn State played was on Dec. 2, 2014. BC defeated the Nittany Lions, 113-104, in overtime at Conte Forum.
A two-game road swing will start with BC at Fordham on Sunday, Dec. 4 followed by a mid-week game at Yale on Dec. 7.
The Eagles will then host four consecutive home games. Former Big East rival Providence will come to Conte Forum on Saturday, Dec. 10. The team will have a week off for finals and return to the hardwood on Sunday, Dec. 18 to host Central Connecticut State. Dartmouth will visit Conte Forum on Wednesday, Dec. 21 for the first game against the two teams since Nov. 19, 2010. The two teams played in the TD Bank Classic in Vermont with the Eagles earning an, 87-61, victory.
BC will then host Maine on Friday, Dec. 30 before the ACC schedule kicks into gear.
The complete ACC schedule will be released at a later date, but BC will face Syracuse and Notre Dame twice next season. Other home games include Virginia Tech, Florida State, Duke, Georgia Tech, NC State and Clemson.
The road opponents for BC will be Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Miami, North Carolina, Virginia and Louisville.
