Basketball Bio
Redshirted the 2014-15 season … played in 36 of 37 games last season … scored a season-high 13 points against Portland (2/25), going 4-for-7 from the field and 3-for-5 from long range … sank three 3-pointers and scored 11 points at San Francisco (2/11) … recorded eight points at Saint Mary's (12/31) and had a season-high seven rebounds vs. Loyola Marymount (1/28).
On why he chose Boston College…
"I really loved the coaching staff. I took a visit and got to see how they practice and got to interact with them a little bit more. I felt I could develop a good relationship with the coaches. I liked that it was in the ACC – the best conference in America. It's in a great location as well."
On the summer workouts…
"I just started Monday and have only had two of them (as of 7/20). It's been really fun, really high paced. It's very positive with a good team atmosphere so it's been great."
On his mission trip to Taiwan…
"It was an awesome experience just teaching people about the Mormon church and Christ. I learned Mandarin and Chinese. I was there from 2012-2014."
On what his strengths are on the court…
"I think I shoot the ball really well. I'm a hard worker and a good on-ball defender."
On what his role with the team will be…
"I see myself as a leader. There are a lot of young guys on the team and I already have two years of experience at BYU. I think I can be a leader and help them understand the rigors of the season, the scouting reports and that kind of stuff – just be a positive role model."
On what he is looking forward to the most this season…
"Just helping us win some games in the ACC and being able to play in these big-time college environments."
On what arena he is most excited to play in…
"Duke. Everybody knows that that's the spot."
