Katie Barrand Wins 2016 New England Championship

Katie Barrand won the 2016 New England Women's Golf Association Championship at the Country Club of Vermont. Barrand, who will be a junior in 2016, shot a 70, 75 and 72 to capture the championship.
Barrand had 10 pars and four birdies, including the final two holes in the final round today to win the event by two strokes over Sarah Cavanagh of Rhode Island.
The Beverly native shot a low round of 70 on Tuesday with four birdies and 12 pars. On day two, Barrand fell into third place overall as she shot a 75. She was -3 on the Par 4's and -2 on the Par 5's for the tournament.
Barrand is having a successful summer as she was part of the Massachusetts team which won the Griscom Cup on June 17.
