Rising junior tabbed to inaugural squad
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Rising junior defender/midfielder Henry Balf has been named to the inaugural New England Revolution U23 team, announced May 27 by the club.
The Revs U23 team has been fielded primarily from returning Revolution Academy players and collegiate players from around the area. The U23s will compete in a series of friendlies this summer.
Balf, a product of nearby Beverly, Mass., has appeared in 37 matches with 36 starts in his first two seasons at Boston College. He has been a vital piece of the Eagles' defensive unit and scored a goal against Virginia Tech this past season.
The U23 team, which is under the direction of the Academy technical staff, grants both college students and other Academy members an avenue to continue their development in close collaboration with the Revolution first team.
