Sailing To Compete at The Spring Nationals in San Diego

The Boston College sailing team will compete at the Intercollegiate Sailing Association's (ICSA) three spring national championships, Sperry Women's National Semi-Final and Final Championship, LaserPerformance Team Race National Championship, and the Gill Coed National Semi-Final and Final Championship that will begin on Tuesday, May 24 with the women's event in San Diego, Calif. The three championship events will be co-hosted by San Diego Yacht Club and the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference.
The women's event will run for four days immediately followed by the Team Race championship on May 28, lasting for three days and the Coed championship on May 31, lasting for four days.
The first two days of the women's competition is a two-group semifinal round. The top nine teams will then advance to the final round which will run May 26-27.
On Saturday, May 28, the LaserPerformance Team Race Nationals will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sixteen teams have qualified to compete in the event. The first round is a single round robin with all the team. The top eight teams will advance to a single championship round robin followed by a final four round robin. That will determine the top three teams to compete for the national title.
The Gill Coed Championship is scheduled to start Tuesday, May 31 at 10:30 a.m. Sailors compete in FJs in North San Diego Bay on the Embarcadero near the B Street Pier. The semifinal is divided into two 18-team rounds and will take place May 31 and June 1. The top nine teams in each division will advance to the finals competition which will take place on Jun 2-3.
