The sophomore becomes the second consecutive Eagle to earn the honor
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – For the second consecutive week, a Boston College softball player was recognized by the ACC for her performance.
Sophomore Allyson Frei was named ACC Pitcher of the Week by the conference Monday afternoon. She follows sophomore Jessica Dreswick, who was crowned with the weekly honor last week.
The Branchville, N.J., native turned in another solid week for the Eagles, posting a stellar 1.00 ERA in three appearances to go along with two wins, including a shutout during the team's 5-0 victory over Syracuse on Saturday. Frei has been especially dominant in ACC play and has now thrown 20.1 consecutive scoreless innings in conference play, striking out 26 and allowing just six hits in that span.
This marks the first time Boston College has had back-to-back conference players of the week since 2003.
