Hayley Dowd, McKenzie Meehan Named Co-Captains

Senior Hayley Dowd and graduate senior McKenzie Meehan will serve as the team captains of the 2015-16 Boston College women's team. Coach Alison Foley announced the team captains at the end of the year banquet.
This will be Dowd's first season as a team captain, while Meehan will serve as a co-captain for the third consecutive season.
The team awards were also awarded at the team banquet.
Dowd, a native of Peabody, Mass, was the Most Valuable Player. The junior forward was the second leading scorer with 12 goals, two assists for 26 points. She was an All-ACC second-team selection and was named the Outstanding Junior Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the Golden Eagles Awards Night on May 6.
Meehan earned Offensive Player of the Year as she led the ACC in goals scored during the regular season with 17 goals. She finished the season with 17 goals, four assists for 38 points. An All-ACC first-team selection, Meehan now owns the record for career goals with 46 and is closing in on the record for most career points. She currently has 15 game-winning-goals and needs one to tie the program record held by Brooke Knowlton.
The Defensive Player of the Year was Alexis Bryant. The redshirt freshman played in 15 games and started 14. A native of Kensington, Maryland, Bryant had a .762 save percentage.
First-year forward/midfielder Gaby Carreiro was named Rookie of the Year. A native of Upton, Mass., Carreiro played and started 19 of the 20 games this past season. She finished the season as the team's fourth leading scorer with two goals and five assists for nine points.
The recipient of the Coaches Award was senior Madison Meehan. The Glocester, R.I. native started 20 games this past season on defense. She played in a 55 career games and moved from the midfield to defense numerous times in her four-year career to help the team.
