BC HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- Tess Chandler and Sarah Mannelly each recorded four points as Boston College defeated the Bulldogs of Yale, 15-11, Wednesday afternoon at Reiss Stadium in New Haven, Conn.Â
- Following Wednesday's victory, the Eagles move to 4-10 all-time in the series and have now won the last three games against the Bulldogs dating back to 2011. The maroon and gold improve to 7-5 overall while they move to 6-1 in non-conference play.
- With four points, Sarah Mannelly moved into fourth place in program history for career points with 223, surpassing Mikaela Rix's 222 point total set between 2012-15. The New Canaan, Conn. native had previously passed Kristin Igoe for fifth place in the team's loss to Virginia on April 2.Â
- In her 50th game as an Eagle, junior Tess Chandler notched her 50th career goal, becoming the third player on the current roster to amass that career total mark.Â
- Kate Weeks continues to lead the Eagles with eight multi-goal games following her three-goal performance Wednesday. The Princeton, N.J. native has now scored three-plus goals in three straight games, all of which she has started.Â
- Sophomore Emma Schurr made her first career start Wednesday after playing in a total of 29 games over her first two seasons off the bench for the Eagles. With two tallies, Emma set a new career best for goals in a game.Â
- Elizabeth Miller recorded her first collegiate goal with 14:16 remaining in the first half.
- Senior captain Molly Erdle netted her first goal of the season and third of her career on a free position shot near the midway point of the second half while Kenzie Kent had her second straight game with a team-high five draw controls.
TURNING POINT
- Trailing 1-0 in the first minute of the game, the Eagles took advantage of their first possession by recording the first of six-straight goals to quickly take the lead. The Eagles kept a lead of at least three goals for the remainder of the game.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kate Weeks got the Eagles on the board to tie the score with her 21st of the season a mere 10 seconds after Yale opening up the game with a goal of their own.Â
- Mannelly, E. Schurr (twice), Elizabeth Miller and Caroline Margolis netted the net spring of goals for BC to push the Eagles lead to 6-1 with 10:42 remaining in the first half.Â
- After Yale got a pair of goals back, it was Weeks again to net her second of the game as BC went into halftime with a 7-4 lead.Â
- The maroon and gold opened the second half with a pair of goals from Tess Chandler and Caroline Margolis to extend the lead to 9-4.
- The two teams would exchange goals the remainder of the second half. After Yale cut into the deficit with two straight goals, BC responded with a Mannelly goal on an assist from Margolis.
- When Yale scored again, Chandler had back-to-back unassisted goals less than two minutes apart to push the BC lead back to five, 12-7.
- Molly Erdle would record her first goal of the season and Brooke Troy her second before Weeks finished the scoring as BC was victorious, 15-11, Wednesday afternoon in New Haven.Â
