The Eagles and Irish return to action with a 3:05 p.m. game on Saturday, April 16. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3. It will be Notre Dame's fourth annual ALS Game to honor Pete Frates, who played for ND head coach Mik Aoki at BC.

BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Freshman right-handed Jacob Stevens struck out seven and did not walk a batter in his six-inning start, but allowed a season-high four runs on seven hits. In his 46 career innings pitched, he has now allowed six earned runs.
- Sophomore Jake Palomaki drew two walks in the game. He has reached base in 25 of the Eagles' 30 games this season.
- Junior Michael Strem and sophomores Scott Braren and Anthony Maselli tallied the hits for the Eagles – all singles. Braren drove in the only BC run.
KEY PLAYS
- After Braren knocked a bases-loaded single to right with one out in the seventh to bring BC within one, ND starter Peter Solomon got the next two batters swinging to get the Irish out of the jam.
- The Irish tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a three-run lead and reliever Brad Bass retired six of the seven batters he faced to pick up the save.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Irish got on the board in the fourth, plating two runs. Jake Shepski led off with a single through the left side and Zak Kutsulis followed with a double to right to put runners on second and third. Stevens came back with a strikeout for the first out of inning before Ricky Sanchez grounded out to third to plate Shepski. Nick Podkul singled to left to score Kutsulis to give ND a 2-0 lead. Stevens allowed another single before a fly ball ended the inning.
- The Eagles got one back in the seventh. They loaded the bases on two walks and a base hit by Strem and Braren drove in a run with a single to right. Two strikeouts left the bases loaded.
- Notre Dame added two in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-1 lead. Podkul led off with a double to left center and Kyle Fiala brought him home with another double down the right-field line. Freshman RHP John Witkowski came into the game and got a grounder to third for the first out but surrendered a single to plate a run. He loaded the bases on a walk and another single. Freshman LHP Dan Metzdorf came in and got a strikeout and popup to get the Eagles out of the jam.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles only mustered three hits on the day. They are 1-3 when tallying three hits or less.
- BC also did not record an error in the game. It was the first time since March 25, 2016 at Pittsburgh the Eagles went errorless. They are 6-4 in games when the defense is perfect.
- The loss halted the Eagles' four-game win streak.
- BC drops to 4-13 in South Bend in the all-time series and 10-27 overall against the Irish.
