Team Banquet Celebrated By Family, Friends and Support Staff

The Boston College women's basketball team held the 2015-16 postseason banquet on Thursday night in the Shea Room at Conte Forum.
The Eagles celebrated the 2015-16 season in which BC went 15-16 overall and advanced to the second round of the ACC Tournament with a win over Virginia Tech.
Coach Johnson addressed the crowd and thanked the many fans and family members in attendance as well as the teams' support staff including the Eagles PA announcer Andy Jick, the online announcer for the team Bill Spaulding, the team trainer Kristen Allen, strength and conditioning coach Meghan Tierney graduate assistants Emiko Smith and Stefanie Murphy, team managers, practice players as well as the video department's intern Johnny Gil, the marketing and ticket office.
BC's video coordinator Brandon Miller created a short highlight video and the senior Nicole Boudreau and Alexa Coulombe received the chance to thank teammates, staff and family members in their goodbye speech.
The Offensive Player of the Year for Boston College was presented to both junior Kelly Hughes and freshman Mariella Fasoula. The Eagles guard averaged Hughes averaged 14.2 points, shot 42.4 percent from the floor and hit a new career-high 92 three-pointers. She scored in double-figures in 24 games and had a season-high 26 points at Northeastern. Hughes also received a ball commemorating her 1,000th career point. She reached the milestone on a three-pointer in the third quarter at Duke on Jan. 17.
Fasoula, the rookie center, averaged 13.5 points, shot 54.4 percent from the floor and grabbed 5.4 rebounds a game. She scored in double-figures in 23 games and reached a career-high 23 points vs. Purdue and Georgia Tech. Fasoula earned All-ACC Rookie team honors, the first BC first-year player to be honored since senior Nicole Boudreau earned the same honor four years ago.
For the second consecutive season, Nicole Boudreau was name Defensive Player of the Year. Boudreau also earned her third-consecutive Charge Master Award. The award is given to the player who takes the most defensive charges during the season.
The Coaches Award went to sophomore Katie Quandt. A native of Minnesota, Quandt played in all 31 games and averaged 12.9 points per game. She averaged 4.4 points and 2.7 rebounds coming off the bench.
