NEW YORK CITY – While the College Hockey Showdown at Madison Square Garden between the University of North Dakota and Boston College under the bright lights of Manhattan may still be more than eight months away, fans will have their first chance to secure a seat at Madison Square Garden for the collegiate clash when tickets go on sale in the coming days.
The inaugural College Hockey Showdown at MSG, which pits two of college hockey's premier programs against each other in a marquee event at the 'World's Most Famous Arena,' is set for Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016. Puck drop is slated for 8 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden. The unique event is co-hosted by the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) and The Garden, and features perennial top-10 schools, which have won a combined 13 NCAA National Championships and made 47 NCAA Frozen Fours. Both UND and BC finished this season ranked in the top five nationally and both reached the NCAA Frozen Four with North Dakota capturing the program's eighth national championship.
