UVA Takes 7-0 Win

Eagles complete weekend series at NC State and Virginia
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Boston College men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to No. 2 Virginia on Saturday afternoon at the Snyder Tennis Center.
The Cavaliers opened the match with two wins in doubles, claiming 6-1 wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts. The nation's eighth-ranked tandem – Mac Styslinger and Thai-Son Kwiatkowski – topped BC's Alexandre Thirouin and Aidan McNulty at No. 2 doubles, while Jonathna Cornish and Harrison Richmond defeated BC's duo of Kent Mukai and Jeffrey Melvin on the No. 3 court. On the No. 1 court, Kyle Childree and Hank Workman's match was unfinished with the team trailing 5-3 to the nation's No. 2-ranked team of Ryan Shane and Luca Corinteli.
In singles, UVA earned straight-set wins on all six courts to push the lead to the final 7-0 margin. At No. 1 singles, McNulty was edged by Shane, ranked eighth nationally, 7-5, 6-2, while Childree pushed Styslinger to a second-set tie-break before falling 6-2, 7-6.
Boston College (3-12, 0-7 ACC) returns to the court on Friday, April 1, when they travel to face Clemson. Virginia is now 16-2 on the season and 6-0 in the ACC.
