Eagles Tally Two Second Places Finishes at Rowing Beanpot

BC places third overall in points against BU, Northeastern, Radcliffe, MIT
BOSTON – The women's rowing team placed second in both the Varsity Four and the Third Varsity Eight events to highlight the team's performance in the Rowing Beanpot on the Charles River course. The five-school competition saw the Eagles square off against Boston University, Northeastern, Radcliffe and MIT.
Boston College finished third overall in team points at the five school competition.
In the Varsity Four event, the Eagles team of Amanda Bakke (cox), Caitlain McDonald (stroke), Paige Vignone, Jamie Bange and Olivia Rogus (bow) slipped in ahead of Northeastern at 7:42.0 and was second only to Radcliffe's team, who registered a first place finish in a time of 7:27.8.
The Third Varsity Eight squad also placed second with a time of 7:26.7, beating out Northeastern in a photo finish, less than one second earlier than the Northeastern team who came in third with a time of 7:27.2. Ola Zaworski (cox), Grace Brzozowski (stroke), Morgan Rann, Christy Verhoog, Claire Mason, Jessica Zettlemoyer, Jillian Raplee, Laura Mazziotta, Hilary Gould (bow).
Boston College saw third place finishes in the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight events while the Fourth Varsity Eight saw the maroon and gold capture first in a head-to-head battle with Radcliffe.
The V8 boat finished with a time of 6:58.6, behind Radcliffe (6:42.6) and Northeastern (6:46.5) while the 2V8 team also finished in the same order, seeing Radcliffe place first in 6:51.6 while Northeastern took second, crossing nine seconds later.
In the 4V8 event, BC defeated Radcliffe by 10 seconds, finishing with a time of 7:33.8.
