Ice Hockey begins postseason run while lacrosse looks for second straight win over top-three team
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The men's ice hockey team begins its postseason run tonight when the Eagles take on Harvard in the NCAA Regionals at the DCU Center in Worcester. BC is the second seed in the Northeast Region of the 16-team tournament. Tonight's game will be televised on ESPNU beginning at 8 pm.Â
Ahead of the Beanpot semifinal rematch, in which the Eagles skated past the Crimson, 3-2, the Boston Herald's Stephen Hewitt talked to Eagles netminder Thatcher Demko on what it would mean to win the National Championship with the Eagles this season.Â
After an upset victory over  No. 3 Syracuse last weekend, the women's lacrosse team looks forward to another top-three matchup this Saturday, when they host North Carolina, who advanced to the NCAA title game last season. Most recently, captain Sarah Mannelly was featured in her local newspaper, the New Canaan Advertiser, on reaching a career milestone. After being named Epoch/Lacrosse Magazine Player of the Week following her six points against 'Cuse, she and her teammate Dempsey Arsenault were named ACC Players of the Week. The team was also featured in a Lax Magazine article ahead of its matchup with UNC.
Football's Justin Simmons was written about in the Boston Globe this past week, discussing how he has quickly become a "Hot NFL Prospect."Â
And for former BC baseball player Steve Langone, this year's spring exhibition game between the Eagles and the Red Sox in Fort Myer's was extra special, as he looks back on being on both sides of the game.Â
