CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - It's exciting times at Boston College, as the women's hockey team is two games away from ultimate glory.
At 39-0-0, the Eagles enter the Frozen Four filled with confidence and seeking to make history by capturing the first NCAA championship in program history, cementing their status as possibly the best women's hockey team of all-time. Â With a all-time mark of 0-5 in the national semifinals, Boston College hopes to correct that on its way to the final prize. It's a pressure-packed weekend that won't be easy, as the other three teams in the Frozen Four have combined to win 10 of the last 12 national championships. But with head coach Katie Crowley and a group of veteran playmakers leading the charge, the Eagles aren't feeling the pressure.Â
MEN'S HOCKEY
The men's team is also seeking to add to its hardware by capturing the sixth national championship in program history. One of the key contributors to the 2010 and '12 runs, Chris Kreider--currently playing for the New York Rangers--hasn't allowed the bright lights of NHL stardom to prevent him from finishing up his degree at Boston College.Â
BASEBALL
The Eagles have also proved their no slouches when it comes to baseball, as the team is off to its best start since 1973 and ranked in the national poll for the first time ever.Â
